Welcome to St. Stephen's!
Greetings and welcome to all!
We are proud of our deep roots and our lively opportunities for worship, education, outreach and care. Since 1725, Anglican Christians have found this place a sanctuary for public and private worship using the Book of Common Prayer. Congregational Life is centered our weekly Eucharist, to which all are welcome and worship is enhanced by our growing Music program.
In the present moment, we are alive with the bustle of children's programs, Bible studies, extraordinary music and a host of opportunities for charitable work and Christian fellowship. St. Stephen's provides weekly sacramental visits for those who cannot physically join us on Sunday mornings.
As Episcopalians in the Diocese of Connecticut, we are proud of our connections with the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion. Outreach to our community and beyond is coordinated through the Mission committee. We rejoice in the collaborative work with faith communities surrounding Ridgefield, including the Daily Bread Food Pantry, Amos House, Habitat for Humanity and the Association of Religious Communities which serves as an Interfaith clearinghouse for relief efforts in the greater Danbury area.
Along the way, Parish Life provides many opportunities to gather together in community. Members of all ages can rejoice in our life together and develop meaningful relationships with God and one another.
I look forward to greeting you in person, at a Bible Study, the Nutmeg Festival or at one of our Sunday services. All who seek to "live the Word of God and pass it on" are welcome to join us in our journey and at the Lord's Table.
Peace, The Rev. Whitney Altopp, Rector
