Rector's Letter
Greetings and welcome to all!
We are proud of our deep roots and our lively opportunities for worship, education, outreach and care. Since 1725, Anglican Christians have found this place a sanctuary for public and private worship from the Book of Common Prayer.
In the present moment, we are alive with the bustle of children's programs, Bible studies, extraordinary music and a host of opportunities for charitable work and Christian fellowship. St. Stephen's is a Stephen Ministry congregation and we also provide weekly sacramental visits for those who cannot physically join us on Sunday mornings.
As Episcopalians in the Diocese of Connecticut, we are proud of our connections with the Episcopal Church and the worldwide Anglican Communion. Mission teams visit our sister parish, Trinity Church, Pass Christian, MS, regularly providing continuing support for this Katrina-affected church. The parish is developing a companion relationship with the Diocese of Lebombo in Mozambique. We also rejoice in the collaborative work with faith communities in the greater Ridgefield area.
Linda and I look forward to greeting you in person at a Bible Study, the Nutmeg Festival or at one of our Sunday services. All who seek to "live the Word of God and pass it on" are welcome to join us in our journey and at the Lord's Table.
Peace, Mark +
The Rev. Mark S. Delcuze, Rector
